Day 2 of my 30 Day 3D sculpt challenge. My first ”glimpse” (yes, just a glimpse) of 3D sculpting, and let me tell you this: Sculpting and thinking in 3D is hard. At least not as easy as I expected it to be, with my background in heavy raster and vector programs.
I decided to take it up a notch, and went for something more complex that Day 1. I regretted it. I spent a lot of time going back and forth and trying to figure out how things work. In the end, my 3D version might not look like the real Peppa, but I’m pretty happy with how it turned out. Considering what lengths I went to finish her!
I didn’t use any references, just my imagination. That’s probably why my Peppa is a lot different that my kids’ toy Peppa… Maybe I will re-do this one at the end of the 30 Day Challenge. That is, if I survive!
From a technical point, I used a bunch of primitives and some basic sculpting. Most of the time I didn’t know what I was doing, just like I said, I’m still trying to figure how everything works. There are many inconsistencies and imperfections and I bet, if I was to make Peppa again, she would turn out a lot different!
