17th day of my 30 day 3D challenge.
Let’s face it: Who doesn’t love these adorable little yellow creatures? I am a hardcore fan for sure! “Minions” and “Despicable Me” are among my go-to movies, the movies I watch when I want to feel better, to relax, to laugh. So, this little 3D model is dedicated to you, my minions!!
I didn’t have any major issues today. It was a pleasant project, I knew what to do and how. However, I must admit that I missed a lot of details, mostly because I do not have the luxury to sculpt for hours and hours. So my character looks quite simplified compared to an original minion, but I want to believe that the original ones were created by a whole studio. Maybe not. But I feel good thinking so!

The only thing that I oversimplified and is bugging me is the eye. I didn’t sculpt a detailed eye like I did on Mike Wazowski. I though details wouldn’t matter with everything else going on, the glasses (or glass!), the lens… I was wrong. Will fix the eye tomorrow.

Aaaand after 17th days, I found a flaw in Nomad Sculpt. Painting details is hard. Which is to be expected of a sculpting program. Next time I will load my 3D model to procreate, to test 3D painting. Till then…
